Cambridge: Pink Floyd and More

PINK FLOYD, the famous music group, are from Cambridge, East Anglia, UK.  Only the most popular from this university city, now also recognized as the “Silicon Valley” of England (“Silicon Fens” is in Cambridge, and refers to the marshy lands around it), Cambridge hosts several cultural events and festivals yearly.  The STRAWBERRY FAIR is a totally free music and children’s fair with quite a few industry stalls, and it takes location the initial Saturday of every June on Midsummer Typical in Cambridge.

In addition to enjoying the sights hardcore Pink Floyd fans revere, the presence of so many students makes Cambridge a treat for live music lovers of each and every stripe.  Well-served by London Stansted Airport and with numerous transportation possibilities from London, Cambridge hotels, from the most modest bed-and-breakfast, to cozy inns such as The Earl of Derby Inn (in fact 1.6 miles from Cambridge but charming and only about 68 euros per night), bargain tourist hotels of all types (some at much less than 50 euros per night and perfectly sufficient), and four-star hotels on the River Cam, with boating, rowing and punting proper there.  The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences and the Whipple Museum of the History of Science in Cambridge have been of interest to my greater half.  Hotels in Cambridge turned out to be more inexpensive than we’d budgeted for, so we have been able to remain an further night.  I smoke, so the only tiny snag in the go to was my getting to sit outdoors for that.  Really handful of hotels in England allow any smoking inside its facilities any longer, but I was created welcome on a terrace.  It was excellent to see Cambridge once more!
